Nicholas Balenger
Nicholas Balenger (C), a George Mason University Criminal, Law, Society major, has turned his tragedy into triumph and is now a major contributor to rehabilitation research at Mason. While vacationing with family in Maui, he hit a sandbar and became paralyzed from the chest down. Today, he is able to walk with assistance and is involved in important research in the Mason College of Health and Human Services’ Dept. of Rehabilitation Services.
