Mason’s J.P. Auffret is the director of Research Partnerships for the School of Business and the associate director for the Volgenau School of Engineering’s Center for Assurance Research and Engineering (CARE). He’s hosting Ibrahim Shahristani, a Humphrey Fellow and recent Chief Information Officer for Afghanistan’s Ministry of Commerce and Industries, for six weeks to explore government digital services and the potential best possible practices for Afghanistan. Shahirstani’s visit follows his two semesters at Syracuse University as part of the Humphrey Fellowship Program, which is affiliated with the Fulbright Program through the U.S. State Department.
