The Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School Events
The School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution and Center for Sport Management
The School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution and Center for Sport Management at George Mason University will lead a panel discussion that explores if there is a role for athletes in conflict resolution and if/how universities can best play a part in this role. With the recent rise in athlete-led protests aimed at highlighting social issues in society, this topic has gained traction and relevance in the areas of both sport and conflict resolution. The event will convene sport coaches, athletes, conflict resolution experts, sport journalists, public and private practitioners, as well as policymakers for a robust conversation on this timely topic. A new minor at George Mason University, resulting from a partnership between the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution and Center for Sport Management is a unique program that will also be discussed during the panel.
